FAQs - All your questions answered!
Excellent question! Little Ballet Dancer offers a studio lesson in the comfort of your home. Your child will benefit from learning age-appropriate strengthening exercises, ballet fundamentals and imaginative play. All lessons are themed - allowing the child to enter a pretend world, so the steps are never dull and boring. Our lessons are unique in that they are gender neutral, making learning ballet appealing and fun for boys. Our exercises are also accompanied by well-regarded ballet musicians from around the world - the right piece of music helps the child execute the steps with feeling.
Little Ballet Dancer is designed to teach children from 3 – 7 years. The younger children will benefit from the introduction of musicality, coordination, imaginative dance and begin to learn ballet fundamental positions and steps. The older children will gain all the above and will be able to execute the exercise to a higher standard. The benefit of being able to practice the lesson again and again will enable the child to make great progress.
We provide an opportunity to nurture and normalise ballet for boys. Oh-too-soon our boys shy away from attending ballet classes with girls. Think about the developmental opportunities they’re missing because they don’t feel comfortable! Balance, coordination, posture, self-expression, strength, confidence. The list is practically endless. We all know they shouldn’t feel like they have to shy away from ballet.
How Little Ballet Dancer helps:
- We cultivate a love of ballet at home where boys feel comfortable and free to express themselves. We help parents embrace their boy’s love of dance.
- The skills learnt will be transferable and beneficial for many other activities - regardless of whether they continue to pursue ballet or not.
Access to lessons will be housed in a secure membership portal. You will need to enter a personal login to see the videos. Each video can be played on any smart device and Chromecast to a smart TV.
Each lesson is 15 - 25 minutes, an age-appropriate attention time frame for video engagement. Lessons consist of 7 - 8 individual exercises.
Absolutely, the lessons are designed and taught knowing children with no prior dance experience may be participating. Miss Debbie takes time to explain and introduce steps, making it an ideal place for young children to begin to learn ballet fundamentals and have fun dancing.
Yes, most certainly. Children with prior ballet knowledge will have a sense of familiarity, allowing them opportunity to improve the execution of each step. Steps are woven in imaginative exercises, so they remain exciting and new. Each lesson contains exercises to help strengthen muscles and improve technique, thus making this program a great addition for children currently enrolled in a studio but want to dance more than once a week.
Once you have access to the videos you will continue to have access to them for the life of your membership. So, if life gets busy one month, you’ll have even more to enjoy the following month. Plus, if you go away, you can continue to do the lessons, anywhere anytime.
The joys of dancing at home means no specific uniform or shoes required. Just be mindful of the floor type: no socks if the floor is slippery, and shoes on for rough surfaces. Clothing shouldn’t be restrictive. Capes optional
We all know in the early years children often change their mind. With that in mind, each lesson is a different theme to keep the child engaged and interested. For monthly subscribers we have a ‘cancel anytime’ option available. For those who have subscribed upfront for 6 months, hopefully your little dancer will be inspired to dance again when they see an upcoming theme. Remember, if one week doesn’t capture their imagination, the next week will! That’s the beauty of themed lessons, no lesson is the same.
Most certainly. We can even recommence your subscription at the point where you left, however you will lose access to the previous lessons watched.
Although supervision is not essential it is certainly recommended for the child to gain maximum benefit from the program. Children perform better when watched, and gentle encouragement never goes astray. So pour a cup of tea, sit back and enjoy the delight of watching your child dance. Or join in! Now that’s something you can’t do in a ballet studio!
Once you click on the link to purchase a subscription you will have access to the terms and conditions. Please read them!
Definitely! Pop over to the Contact page and send a message. Miss Debbie will get back to you with all the answers to your questions. As a teacher and a parent herself, Miss Debbie wants every child to enjoy their dancing, master their ballet foundations, and - very importantly - she wants parents to feel comfortable and happy with their subscription to her Little Ballet Dancer lessons.

“Our creative outlet in our own living room”
Little Ballet Dancer is a fantastic program! I love how it incorporates fun and magic while naturally focussing on technique. Miss Debbie works on building the foundations of ballet in every lesson. I’d say her ability to connect with children on their level is really second to none.

“It’s really beautiful”
My son loves the crown theme, he noticed it immediately. I love how Miss Debbie explains terms very simply, my son is learning ballet terms whilst doing the exercises. The music is gorgeous!
